Peg Board Rules

There have been a number of recent incidents where Members have been known to have switched on transmitters before frequency clearance i.e. not having a Peg on the Board

The rules are clear on this in that

'Transmitters must not be switched on unless the operator has the appropriate frequency identification and a peg on the Pegboard'

Try clipping your Peg to your Transmitter Neck Strap Mounting Hole to remind you that it is not on the Peg Board if you go to switch on

At times there are some very expensive and heavy models in the air

If you do switch on to a channel already being used by an aircraft in flight the chances are that you will shoot it down maybe crashing it into the Pits, Car Park or even onto the Road

One easy way of becoming the proud new owner of someone else's black bag full of bits ££££!

Be careful

Also, an instance has occurred where a Member's Peg was found lying on the ground below the Pegboard and was mistakenly placed back on the Pegboard by another Member on a channel number which corresponded to the Membership Number on the ID Tag fastened to the Peg.

These Numbers should not be confused with Channel Numbers, they are completely different.

If a Peg falls from the board for any reason, it will/should have an ID Tag attached to it with the Member's name on it. The Member's name should be called out and that person should replace the Peg on the appropriate Channel Number themselves

The placement/removal of Pegs on the Pegboard should only be carried out by the person who the Peg belongs to and that way responsibility always lies with the Peg owner.
